The Perrin Technique
The Life Back Method
A Physical and Emotional Treatment for CFS/ME
You don’t need me to tell you how challenging it is to live with CFS ME on a daily basis; from my experience with helping you guys over the years it can be a living hell.
There are a few systems on the market that help with the mental and emotional aspect of the condition but as far as I can see none that really have been proved to help with the physical side.
I have been helping patients for 25 years with different physical treatments such as massage, manipulation and lymph drainage with okay success. I have also been helping patients with the emotional and stress elements that come with CFS by using clinical hypnotherapy to aid in removing stress and negative behaviour patterns and emotions again with okay success.
Then it dawned on me that if I can bring the 2 therapies together, The Perrin Technique and the Clinical Hypnotherapy System, this would help sufferers even more and may even quicken up the process and get your Life Back so that YOU CAN GET BACK TO DOING THE THINGS YOU LOVE TO DO.
Clinical Hypnotherapy
Most evidence points to an emotional aspect when it comes to treating CFS ME and it has been shown that hypnotherapy can be a wonderful treatment allowing you to really understand how to control your emotions and negative thoughts which can be so damaging to your everyday life.
The hypnotherapy really delves into the initial trigger or course of the condition which led to the cascade of physiological processes that resulted in CFS in a very gentle and therapeutic way. It also looks into the Stress Factors associated with CFS and helps you deal with that in a more positive productive way.
What is the Perrin Technique?
As a manual system of diagnosis and treatment, The Perrin Technique has helped many hundreds of patients with CFS/ME since 1989. The Perrin Technique is a specialist osteopathic diagnostic and treatment protocol developed specifically to diagnose and treat ME/CFS.
Raymond Perrin’s research coupled with the hundreds of successful clinical case studies and the latest findings in neurophysiology, has provided strong evidence that CFS/ME involves a disturbance of the drainage of toxins from the brain and muscles.
The Perrin Technique is an osteopathic approach designed to manually stimulate the fluid motion around the brain and spinal cord, encouraging drainage of the lymphatic system. Manipulation of the spine and tissues further aid drainage of these toxins out of the cerebrospinal fluid.
Has it been tested?
Yes! Its effectiveness was tested using two separate clinical trials. The first examined the change in the symptoms following a year of treatment. The second repeated the first study and used MRI scanning in order to examine further the possible mechanisms of the improvement.
What happens in the initial consultation?
You will first fill out a questionnaire detailing your main medical history. You will then have a comprehensive consultation with the practitioner which should last a total of about 90 minutes. During the session, your practitioner will spend time explaining CFS/ME and the reasons for the technique plus take a detailed medical case history.
This will be followed by an examination of your spine, abdomen, head and the lymphatics of the thorax which includes the breast tissue ( a chaperone should attend the initial consultation). In the case of a diagnosis, the patient will be given a score out of 10, with 10/10 being perfectly healthy.
What happens in the treatment sessions?
The treatment aims at manually stimulating the drainage of the offending toxins from the central nervous system with gentle stroking towards both collar bones where the lymph drains into larger veins eventually reaching the liver.
Here, the poisons are finally rendered harmless. Gentle manual treatment to the cranium and spine with relaxation of the surrounding muscles together with specific lymphatic drainage techniques eventually improve the health and function of the body as a whole.
