Babies & Pregnancy

As a Qualified Osteopath John is qualified to work with babies, children and pregnant women.
John receives lots of referrals from local midwives who understand just how much osteopaths can help relieve the awful pain associated with some pregnancies.

Pregnancy

A woman’s body changes during this time and those changes include the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture. That can lead to additional pressure on the joints in various parts of the body, including spine or pelvis.

To help you back to health, John utilises a range of techniques including physical manipulation (always gentle), stretching and massage and other gentle techniques such as cranial massage.

Pregnancy can cause general aches and pains including joint and back pain and osteopathy could help you to overcome this, allowing you to concentrate on being a healthy mother without pain.

Babies

Gentle cranial massage could help soothe and relax your baby. Cranial techniques (gentle massage of the head and neck) are safe, gentle and non-manipulative; they are often used when treating new borns.

Osteopaths believe that the healthy balance and function of the musculoskeletal framework of the body is essential to a whole person’s health.

Osteopathy techniques are suitable for children at all stages of development and John will assess your child to see what may help.
